A note about our future
The priesthood is about healing humanity and saving the planet. If we don’t change our attitudes, if humanity does not change its attitude, its spiritual orientation, we will eat the life out of Mother Earth and each other. Or, Mother Earth will find a way to eliminate us, or perhaps eliminate enough of us so that only spiritually oriented people will remain. As long as we’re here we still have a chance to redeem ourselves. If you have five senses and can touch trees and soil, then there is a chance. It will take all of us, every single human on earth, to affect this change.
It won’t come about by convincing people. It’s about becoming that entity, that spiritual orientation which people can see. You see the number of people whom Tom Sawyer affected during his time here. We can do the same. Imagine if we had 144,000 people attain Tom’s level. That would certainly stack the deck in favor of transition.
The August priesthood zoom was an excellent example of how to prepare for the work that will come. That round table sharing toward greater connection, building our spiritual strength, our personal relationship to the Divine, is essential for our future work.
One goal I can see is to be able to consciously be aware, to have the sensitivity to detect, and the strength of love, to do the work Dan says we are already doing in our sleep state. To be able to do that with full consciousness is a goal well within reach. It is a goal worthy of attaining, not of imagining, but actually knowingly doing it.
It requires the sensitivity to detect where help is needed And the ability to love strongly enough to accomplish it.
Tom has said, “I am so impatient that I heal like a novice, which can be dangerous”. I think he’s referring to the difference between ‘I will fix your problem’ and ‘I will give you guidance for growth to be able to deal with your problem’. One says, “Ok, you’re all fixed”. The other says, “Here’s the path toward the growth you need”.
We pray and meditate for two reasons; one, to get better and two, to keep from sliding back, because we are human and subject to many distractions.
